The show reimagines classic fairy-tale heroines who begin questioning the stories they’ve been given and ultimately choose to rewrite their own narratives. \nWhat makes this story especially powerful is that the performers are local youth from across North Lake Tahoe\, Reno\, Truckee\, and Incline Village\, many of whom receive scholarships to participate in the arts programming. \nThrough theatre\, these young people are building confidence\, leadership skills\, and a sense of belonging\, while bringing an empowering and joyful production to the stage. \nThe show takes place Friday\, March 20\, through Sunday\, March 22nd at North Tahoe High School in Tahoe City\, and it’s a vibrant\, visual production with choreography\, costumes\, and music.

SUMMARY:Dummy Downhill at Diamond Peak
DESCRIPTION:The big news is that we are pushing the Dummy Downhill event forward to ensure we have enough snow to build the dummy launch ramp. The new date is Sunday\, March 29. Everything else about the event remains the same – same incredible creativity\, same entertaining dummy flights\, same fun DJ dance parties. \n— \nJoin us for the 24th annual Dummy Downhill on Sunday\, March 29\, 2026. Participants build a dummy on skis or snowboards that gets launched off of a big jump\, while spectators get to watch as unique characters fly down the hill or crash hard. This is Diamond Peak’s signature spring event and the biggest party of the year. Even non-skiers will want to come watch the madness! A panel of celebrity judges will evaluate all Dummies on the snow by the Base Lodge\, followed by the dummy launch and an awards ceremony. Prizes and certificates are awarded for creativity\, best crash\, furthest distance\, shortest distance\, survivor\, and most sustainable. \nFor the Sustainability Award (judged by IVGID Waste Not)\, Dummies will be graded based on these criteria: incorporation of recycled materials\, reduction or elimination of plastic elements\, minimizing litter produced upon crashing\, and overall sustainability messaging. Waste Not also has a collection of used skis if you need some for your dummy\, please call them at 775-832-1284. \nDummy Details & Registration\nDummies must be at the Base Lodge by 10:00 a.m. to check in and then be judged on creativity. Dummies cannot be live\, have pyrotechnics and must weigh less than 75 pounds. Dummies must slide on snow via skis\, snowboards\, sleds\, or similar sliding device. Dummies\, songs and costumes must be family-friendly. Team captains should be present to help load the dummies after they have been judged and unload at the top of the jump. The jumping typically begins around noon and will be followed by an award ceremony on the Base Lodge Deck. \nAnyone can build a dummy! Get together with your family class\, coworkers\, sports team\, neighbors\, etc. to show off your creativity. Dummy registration is typically available by February.
