Dr. Blaszczak will discuss “Healthy Headwaters, Healthy Lake: How Watershed Processes Influence the Nearshore of Lake Tahoe.”
As a stream ecosystem scientist, Assistant Professor Joanna Blaszczak and her team study the transformations and transport of nutrients, carbon, and contaminants through watersheds and the ecosystem of the streams that drain them.
This talk will feature UC Davis TERC Associate Professor Steve Sadro. Much of his research is conducted in the Sierra Nevada mountains, where steep landscape gradients provide a natural laboratory to test ecological questions. He seeks solutions to environmental problems and contributes to the conservation of aquatic ecosystems.
