Last year, IVGID staff discovered that several large and healthy 100+ year old trees were intentionally injected with diesel fuel in an attempt to kill them off. Unfortunately, whoever did this heinous deed was successful, and the trees were destroyed.
Sadly, we have learned that six more trees have had diesel injected into them. IVGID staff is working closely with an arborist and TRPA to try and save them, and we hope these do not meet the same fate of those from last year.
There is an active investigation in play to determine who poisoned the trees, and the IVGID Parks and Recreation department is asking for your help.
