Authorities are seeking the public’s help in locating Portella-Wright, who was reported missing on August 9th. Portella-Wright is described as 5’9” tall, weighing 125 lbs, with blonde hair and brown eyes.
On Sunday, August 10th, several community members reported seeing Portella-Wright at the top of Highway 267 (on the Truckee side), where she appeared visibly distraught. This sighting has been reported to the authorities.
Cameras in Reno have captured footage of Portella-Wright in a red 2003 Chevrolet Trailblazer with Nevada License Plate PHF8942 (handicapped plate). However, it now appears that this vehicle may have been stolen by Brent Clifford, who is a person of interest in a recent homicide. Clifford, who is also Portella-Wright’s boyfriend, is considered a person of interest in her disappearance as well.
According to police, the vehicle was last seen traveling westbound on Highway 70 from US-395 at Hallelujah Junction. The vehicle has a square white sticker located just to the right of the rear license plate.

It is with heavy hearts that we share today, (August 15th, 2024) we have found the body of a female believed to be Patricia Portella-Wright. The body was found off Mt Rose Highway in Washoe County Nevada. We are waiting on confirmation of the identification from the Washoe County Coroner’s Office.
Ms. Portella-Wright was reported missing on Friday, August 9th 2024. She was last seen on the morning on Sunday August 4th, 2024.
Through investigation we obtained information that led us to the area of Mt Rose Highway. Using a drone we were able to locate the body of a female down a steep embankment. With the help of Washoe County’s Search and Rescue team, we are working to recover the body. Mt Rose Highway will remain closed for a few more hours. We appreciate everyone’s understanding.
During our investigation we identified her boyfriend, Brent Clifford, as a person of interest in her disappearance. On Wednesday, August 14th 2024 Clifford was arrested in Portola. He has been booked into the Placer County jail on a murder charge.
