Cold winds are finally sweeping through the Sierra Nevada, dusting its peaks with fresh snow. With the second freeze of fall 2024 upon us, skiers and snowboarders may be itching to hit the slopes, but they will need to hold tight a bit longer before they can make their first turns of the season.
Lake Tahoe’s ski resorts are gearing up to kick off the 2024-2025 season, with Mt. Rose Ski Resort aiming for the earliest opening on November 8th, giving eager skiers a chance to get back on the slopes just in time for fall’s first big chill.
The season will look a little different this year, as Homewood announced earlier in October that they’ll keep their slopes closed this winter season. (Article)
