Truckee Meadows Fire & Rescue and Southwest Gas crews are responding to a major gas leak on a pipeline that serves Incline Village.
Per the team at News4, fire department officials report that the breach occurred near Marlette Lake, and people in the area may detect a strong odor of gas.
It is unclear why that outage is not showing on Southwest Gas’ outage map, currently, they show an issue in Crystal Bay.
Authorities are urging the public to avoid calling 911 unless there is an immediate threat to life or property, to prevent overwhelming emergency services.
