The first official Board of Trustees meeting for 2025 is set to take place on Wednesday, January 8, in the Boardroom at 893 Southwood Boulevard. The meeting begins at 6 PM and will introduce the newly elected trustees, Mick Homan and Michelle Jezyski, joining current members Michaela Tonking, Dave Noble, and Ray Tulloch.
Agenda highlights include the election of Board Officers for the 2025 term and key discussions on committee appointments and operational improvements. Specific items include appointing a trustee to the Audit Committee, evaluating Board liaison assignments, and reviewing the Audit Committee Chairman’s report on the 2023 Look-Back Project and 31 memorandums from fellow community member Cliff Dobler.
This new Board faces significant challenges, including rebuilding employee morale, ensuring the General Manager, Kent Walrack, has the resources to hire critical staff, and advancing funding for major projects at facilities like Incline Beach, the Skateboard Park, and Snowflake Lodge. These efforts will help preserve and enhance these community assets for generations to come.
With this fresh leadership, IVGID is poised for a brighter future. This board brings a thoughtful and balanced approach to problem-solving, demonstrating a commitment to prioritizing the broader community’s needs. Together, they aim to foster collaboration and progress, ensuring decisions reflect the best interests of all residents and stakeholders.
We wish them all the best.
