To mitigate disruptions, proper signage and flaggers will be in place to maintain public access. This phase of site preparation, expected to be completed within two weeks, is an essential step leading up to the eventual demolition of the Tahoe Biltmore.

The development team behind the Waldorf Astoria Lake Tahoe recently announced a planned financial restructuring, a necessary measure to ensure the project’s long-term success. Despite this restructuring, the developers remain fully committed to the property’s future and continue to make significant investments in the revitalization of the historic Tahoe Biltmore site.
Since receiving unanimous approval from the Tahoe Regional Planning Agency (TRPA) on April 26, 2023, the developers have made steady progress. They’ve completed the abatement of the former hotel structure, demolished the property’s old cottages, and conducted preliminary site cleaning to mitigate the environmental impact.
